Cape Town, South Africa: Evolution Marine Manufacturing (EMM) has announced a new partnership with Sailing Architect BV and MW Naval Architecture, marking a major step in the yard’s expansion into advanced composite and foiling yacht construction.
The collaboration centres on the MW40 Offshore Foiler, a next-generation 40ft offshore racer uniting engineered lightweight construction with cutting-edge foiling efficiency. EMM’s selection as the first build partner reinforces the yard’s growing reputation for precision, technical capability, and uncompromising quality.

Sailing Architect BV, led by offshore racing expert Willem Jan Landman, oversees performance concept development and the marketing and sales of the MW40 Offshore Foiler.
MW Naval Architecture brings an extensive track record in high-performance yacht design, advanced composite structures, and modern foiling platforms. With decades of experience across offshore racers, foil-assist concepts, and data-driven performance engineering, they form the technical backbone of the MW40 project, translating cutting-edge design into a fully engineered, competition-ready offshore foiler.
A Yard Built on Capability
EMM builds on experience from Class40 programmes, the EVO60 multihull, and other advanced composite campaigns, providing a proven foundation for the MW40’s demanding performance profile. The yard operates as a boutique, engineering-led composites specialist, supported by a strong technical team and a new dedicated facility designed for precision manufacturing.
Lead Builder Stefan Falcon brings a reputation for meticulous craftsmanship and high-performance execution—ensuring every detail of the MW40 meets elite offshore standards.
Raising the Bar in High-Performance Yacht Building
The MW40 Offshore Foiler represents EMM’s ambition to compete globally in the high-performance sector, delivering composite excellence and technical depth to one of the most exciting offshore racing projects of the decade.
The combined ambition of the design and build team is to launch a multi-yacht series capable of competing internationally, both within a dedicated class and under IRC. The MW40 Offshore Foiler will be built to a One Design Class “Box Rule.”
